The foreign ministers of Egypt, Ethiopia and Sudan agreed on Wednesday Nov 6th to work towards a comprehensive and sustainable agreement on the filling and operation of a massive dam project in Ethiopia by Jan 15th, 2020, the US Treasury said.

In a joint statement released after US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin hosted talks to try to work out differences over the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, the ministers said they would attend further meetings in Washington on Dec 9th and Jan 13th to assess progress in their negotiations.

The US President Donald Trump said that he held talks with Egyptian, Ethiopian, and Sudanese officials over the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance dam, Reuters reported.

Trump said the meeting went well and the discussions will continue.
