The UAE and Germany established diplomatic relations 47 years ago in 1972. Since then, the two countries have developed a strategic partnership in many fields that has been built on cooperation and mutual respect. The partnership serves to consolidate stability in the region and promotes international peace and security.
Over the years, there have been numerous visits between UAE and German leaders. These visits reflect the continuous growth and development of bilateral relations and continuous coordination regarding common political issues.
Under the theme "Emirati-German bilateral relations are the best in the world", Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, will begin a two-day state visit to Germany. The visit will begin on Tuesday, June 11th, at the invitation of German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
During his visit, Sheikh Nahyan will meet with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Merkel. The leaders will discuss ways of boosting cooperation and friendship across multiple fields.
Sheikh Nahyan will also meet with senior German officials, along with a number of representatives from German companies, according to WAM.
Emirati-German relations are strategic and have spanned more than 15years, covering various economic, political and security aspects.
There are mutual interests and common goals that exist between the two countries, which has led to the promotion of security, stability and prosperity in the region.
In this regard, Germany and the UAE’s leadership look forward to strengthening their relations and elevating them to higher levels in political and economic cooperation, energy, humanitarian assistance, culture, education, environment and climate change.
