Bolivian President of the Chamber of Deputies Victor Borda on Sunday November 10th announced his resignation, saying that protesters set fire to his house and captured his brother, Reuters reported.
Mine’s minister Cesar Navarro and Hydrocarbons Minister Luis Sanchez also announced their resignation.
This comes as protesters have continued to call on controversial President Evo Morales to step down, after he declared victory in the October 20 elections for a fourth presidential term.
The 35-member Organization of American States said in a report published earlier on Sunday that the elections on October 20th contained serious irregularities.
Morales, who has been ruling the country since 2006, said fresh elections would be held under a reformed electoral body, at the recommendation of the OAS, but did not set a date.
