Larry Kudlow, White House economic adviser, said on Sunday August 25th he did not expect a Chinese retaliation, after US President Donald Trump had announced a 5% increase on tariffs on Chinese imports.
“I doubt whether they're going to take another step. I have not heard their official response yet. We'll have to wait and see,” Kudlow said in an interview with CBS’ Face the Nation program, calling Trump’s decision “an action to respond to their action.”
China expressed on Saturday August 24th its strong opposition against Washington’s decision to add tariffs on Chinese goods worth of $550 billion. It warned the US of serious consequences in case the US does not put an end for its “wrong actions”, reported Reuters.
