The political turmoil caused by Brexit has prevented Former US Federal Reserve chair Janet Yellen and Raghuram Rajan, former governor of the Indian central bank, from applying for the job as the governor of the Bank of England, the Financial Times reported on Thursday July 18th.

The two, among the world’s leading central bankers, have refrained from applying to the job after the chaotic economic and political scenes in the UK, according to Reuters.

A number of potential candidates the government had decided not to get considered did not want to get involved in the politics of Brexit, the Financial Times said.
