The former chairman of the Nissan Group, Carlos Ghosn, will face a new charge of authorizing a salary of about 4 billion yen (35.5 million dollars) in the past three years, Japanese media reported on Wednesday.

Tokyo is planning to "re-arrest" the businessman with his former assistant and acting director, Greg Kelly, before Monday, according to prominent media including the Nikkei and Mainichi newspapers.

If the reports are confirmed, the charges against the two businessmen will be added with complicity to conceal a portion of Ghosn's salary of about 5 billion yen in official permits submitted in five years until March 2015.

In Japan, a suspect can be "re-arrested" several times on various charges, a system that has drawn criticism in international media.
