A meeting between Hong Kong activist Joshua Wong and German’s foreign minister will sour bilateral relations, China’s ambassador to Germany said on Wednesday September 11th, according to Reuters.
Pro-democracy activist Wong arrived in Berlin on Monday night and met with German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas.
Ambassador Ken Wu said Beijing’s foreign ministry had sent for the German ambassador to express its dismay. There has been no response so far from Germany’s foreign ministry.
According to the ambassador, the US, Britain and other foreign powers are guilty of fomenting the unrest in Hong Kong. He stressed Beijing’s confidence in the ability of Hong Kong’s government to contain the situation.
