China’s Vice Commerce Minister Wang Shouwen said on Monday, June 24th, that his country seeks the progress of the World Trade Organisation, adding that the tariffs imposed by certain countries represent a threat to world economy, reported Reuters.

On the same context, the deputy governor of China’s central bank Chen Yulu said that there is no room for countries to deal with an economic slowdown.

Wang and Chen were speaking at a media briefing in Beijing ahead of the G20 summit in Japan later this week.

Chinese President Xi Jinping will meet US President Donald Trump at the summit in Osaka.
