Crown Prince Signs Health Agreement with Pope Francis

The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and the Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed forces, Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed, said through his official Twitter that he signed a Global Health agreement with Pope Francis, on Monday November 18th, to curb communicable diseases and combat outbreaks.

The Crown Prince and Pope Francis of the Catholic Church reiterated their efforts to strengthen cooperation in the fight against diseases around the world.

The statement specifically refers to neglected tropical diseases which affect over 1.5 billion people worldwide and highlights the role of the ‘Reaching the Last Mile Fund’ set up by Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed in 2017 to tackle two neglected tropical diseases, river blindness and lymphatic filariasis.
