Google has raised its subscription price for its YouTube TV service by 25% to $49.99 and announced the addition of channels like Discovery, Animal Planet and TLC, Reuters has reported, Wednesday April 10th.
This is the second price increase in about 14 months and comes as YouTube expands to improve its competitiveness against an increasing number of services.
Google raised the price of subscription to YouTube TV from $35 to $40 in February last year.
YouTube TV will add eight new channels, including Travel, HGTV and Vodafone Networks, bringing the total number of its networks to more than 70.
Google said in a posting that the new price is valid from Wednesday April 10th for new subscribers, while the revised fees for existing subscribers will take effect after May 13.
The price for subscribers via Apple's bill would be $54.99 a month.
