Germany went back level on points with Netherlands at the top of Group C after a 3-0 victory away at Estonia in the Euro 2020 qualifiers on Sunday, October 13th. The Germans went down to 10-men after Emre Can was sent off early in the game but kept their cool to score three second-half goals and win comfortably.
Ilkay Gundogan was the star of the show as the Manchester City midfielder scored two goals and grabbed an assist in an impressive display.
The Germans went a man down just 15 minutes into the game after Emre Can was sent off for a last-man tackle on Frank Liivak. Despite being a man down, the visitors looked the stronger side and went close to opening the scoring just before half-time.
Marco Reus curled a sumptuous free kick against the post in the 40th minute as the two teams went into the interval goalless.

Early in the second half, Gundogan fired a shot from the edge of the area with the outside of his right foot to put the Germans ahead. Minutes later, the 28-year-old got his second goal of the game as he ran on Reus’s back heel and fired into the net via a deflection.
Gundogan capped a brilliant display by assisting Timo Werner for the third and final goal in the 71st minute. Both Julian Brandt and Werner were close to adding fourth goals late on as Germany came out comfortable winners.
AFP reported that Germany’s Joachim Loew was pleased with his side’s response after the sending off. "We had to regroup after the red card, the team did well after the break. We did not concede and scored three goals," Loew said.
