A Hong Kong student who died following clashes with security forces suffered head injuries that led to his death, triggering anger waves by the pro-democracy movement, AFP reported on Friday, November 8th.

The 22-year-old computer science undergraduate, namely Alex Chow, was transferred to a hospital on early Monday after he was found unconscious.

Chow was found lying unconsciously in a blood pool inside a car park that police tear gas projectiles were fired towards, as protesters started hurling objects from the building.

The student’s death marks the first student fatality since demonstrations soared against China’s rule over the city, demanding Beijing loosen its control over the city and allow more freedoms.
