Chinese tech firm Huawei said it expects the US Department of Commerce to approve the resumption of using Google’s Android mobile operating system on upcoming smartphones, reported Reuters.

"We acknowledge President Trump’s comments related to Huawei over the weekend and will wait for guidance from the Department of Commerce but have nothing further to add at this time," said Tim Danks, Huawei's vice president of risk management and partner relations, on Monday, July 1st.

US President Donald Trump said, during the G20 summit held in Japan’s Osaka this week, that the US will allow Huawei to buy supplies in the American market.

However, the US commerce department has not yet revealed if the president’s call will allow Huawei to access Google Android's mobile operating system and services for its upcoming smartphone products.
