Voting ended Sunday May 19th in the seventh and final round of India's marathon election to decide whether Hindu Nationalist Prime Minister Narendra Modi gets a second term, AFP reported.
The last polling booths closed at 1230 GMT, the election commission said. The counting of ballots from the world's biggest election, with 900 million eligible voters, will start on Thursday May 23rd.
Modi's right wing Bharatiya Janata Party secured a landslide victory in 2014 with 282 of the 543 seats. Many pollsters say however that the BJP could lose its overall majority this time.
