Juventus announced on Thursday December 5th that midfielder Sami Khedira is confirmed to be out of action for three months after undergoing knee surgery.
Khedira, who won the 2014 World Cup with Germany, had surgery in his native country.
"The operation was perfectly successful and the player will be able to start rehabilitation immediately," Juventus said in a statement.
The Italy Serie A title holders, Juventus also said that the recovery expected time for Khedira is around three months.
AFP reported that the 32-year-old Khedira is a key-player in Maurizio Sarri's team this season as he has featured in 13 of Juventus's 14 league games.
Khedira only missed last weekend's 2-2 draw against Sassuolo where the Turin giants lost their first points at home this season to slip to second behind Inter Milan.
The former Real Madrid and Stuttgart star joined Juventus in 2015 and has won four Serie A titles and three Coppa Italia trophies.
