John McDonnell, a member of the Socialist-led Labour Party, on Sunday December 8th, admitted anti-Semitism allegations facing the party might “had an effect” on the party’s election campaign, Reuters reported.

The party has been accused of failing to tackle the issue since Jeremy Corbyn has succeeded Jewish Ed Miliband as the party’s leader in a surprise victory in 2015. Corbyn has been known for defending the Palestinian issue.

McDonnell said the party has “done everything” to refute these allegations, including appologising to the Jewish community.
