Samir Geagea, head of the Maronite Christian Lebanese Forces party, on Sunday October 20th announced the resignation of his party's ministers from the government, Sky News reported.
Geagea called the Lebanese government unable to take steps to save the country in a press conference, amid fierce protests over the dire economic situation.
Geagea told a news conference that the party's ministers had prioritised the country's interest and voted against the 2019 budget.
He added that the party had called for immediate reforms in the 2020 budget but the government did not give the required serious response.
"This government is unable to find solutions," he said.
