Tottenham midfielder Giovani Lo Ceslo will be out of action until late October after sustaining a hip injury on international duty with Argentina.
The 23-year old suffered the injury during Argentina’s friendly match with Chile in Los Angeles last Friday which ended in a 0-0 draw. He has since returned to Tottenham and AFP reported a statement from the club confirmed his return and the injury.
“The attacking midfielder sustained the injury during his national team’s match against Chile. He will now undergo a period of rehabilitation and is expected to return to training with the first team towards the end of October.”
The Argentinian midfielder signed for Spurs on a season long loan from Real Betis with the option of a permanent deal come the end of the season. He is highly rated by the club, and Tottenham fans expected a lot from him this coming season.
He has not yet started a game for his new club having only three appearances as a substitute. The injury is a major blow since he was expected to be more involved with the team after the international break.
Tottenham have made a slow start to season managing one win, two draws, and one loss from their first four league games. They will next play at home to in-form Crystal Palace on Saturday, September 14th.
