The Macedonian parliament is set to decide whether to name the country "the Republic of Macedonia" or not, and if parliament votes in favor, it will pave the way for a final solution to the dispute between Macedonia and Greece.

On Wednesday afternoon, parliament began discussing four constitutional amendments in preparation for a vote.

"We think the vote will take place on Friday," a senior official in Prime Minister Zoran Zaiev's Social-Democratic Party, said.

"I think we will get a two-thirds majority of the 120 deputies needed to ratify the name change and open the way for reconciliation with Greece," the prime minister said.
