Morocco’s anti-terror police on Sunday December 15th said it managed to halt a suicide attack and arrested the alleged militant, AFP reported, without mentioning the place of the planned operation.
Morocco's central office for judicial investigations said the extremist, 41, has been promoting extremist thought of Isis and had been part of the terrorist group’s propaganda.
The office said police seized electronic devices and documents related to manufacturing of explosives.
In October, Morocco's security authorities managed to thwart a "dangerous" terrorist plot after dismantling a seven-member terrorist cell loyal to Isis, according to security sources.
According to Maghreb Arabe Presse (MAP), the arrested terrorists were active in the region of Tamaris (suburbs of Casablanca) and the cities of Ouezzane and Chefchaouen (north of the country).
An Interior Ministry statement said the operation resulted in the arrest of the mastermind of the cell and its associates.
