Robert Mueller has handed over a report on his investigation into Russia's role in the 2016 presidential election and any wrongdoing President Donald Trump may have committed, the Justice Department said on Friday.
The ministry added that Muller had submitted his report to Justice Minister William Barr. The report has yet to be published as the decision of the parts to be disclosed in the report is due to Bar. It was not known if Muller had found any wrongdoing or crimes committed by Trump or his campaign beyond the charges already made against several of his aides.
Muller, a former director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, has been investigating since 2017 whether the Trump campaign conspired with Moscow in an attempt to influence the election, although the US president later tried to obstruct the investigation in violation of the law.
