National Umma Party Demands Constitutional Decree Reshaping Transitional Period in Sudan

Sudanese opposition National Umma Party stressed on Sunday, May 19th, on the necessity to issue a constitutional decree that determines the construction of the transitional period in Sudan, and also determines the authority of the Transitional Military Council (TMC), the cabinet and the transitional legislature council.

The party also expressed its reservation on the wrong approach followed by the TMC, in which it [TMC] negotiated the formation of apparatuses that will run the transitional period, with a single component of the Sudanese revolution about the, apart from other political parties, calling on the military rulers to consult all political powers that took part in the revolution.

“The TMC should choose the prime minister from the candidates’ list submitted to it,” National Umma Party said in a statement released on Sunday.
