Iraq's Oil Ministry, headed by Thamer Ghadhban, on Saturday November 9th claimed the country maintained a stable production and export rates of oil, in the wake of the continuation of violent protests, Reuters reported.

This comes although protesters, who call for better life conditions, better job opportunities, and recently for regime change, on Wednesday November 6th blocked the entrance to Nassiriya oil refinery in Iraq’s province of Dhi Qar, leading to fuel shortages in the southern province, sources told Reuters.

A statement by the ministry quoted Ghadhban as saying that the "extractive side was in very good health," and affirmed commitment to his country's OPEC share.
