Press secretary to the head of state Dmitry Peskov said on Friday November 8th that President Putin will give a speech at the Artificial Intelligence Journey (AIJ) forum on Saturday November 9th, the Russian news agency Tass has reported.
“The president will have several working meetings tomorrow; he considered it necessary to address in person participants at the AI conference currently being held in Moscow,” Peskov said.
Putin, he said, “pays great attention to AI matters; certain decisions were taken on those dealing with and being the driving force in terms of AI activities.”
AIJ is the biggest discussion platform in Eastern Europe on the subject of AI and will be held in Moscow on November 8th and 9th with support from Sberbank.
The forum will bring together over 5,000 participants, among them major Russian and international experts on data analysis and AI.
The forum will run an international online AI competition, regional conferences in seven cities of Russia, and a large-scale conference. The participants will focus on discussing the implementation of the National Artificial Intelligence Development Strategy approved by Putin.
Key topics will be Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), neuromorphic computing, the development of computer vision technologies, natural language processing (NLP), speech analytics, new methods and their application in business.
On the second day of the conference, the winners of the international online AI competition will be announced.
Putin approved the national initiative for the development of AI until 2030 on October 20th, 2019.
