Saudi Energy Minister, Khalid Al-Falih, said on Saturday August 3rd that he discussed oil markets with his Russian counterpart, affirming the Kingdom’s commitment to production cuts until the end of the first quarter of 2020.

On his Twitter account, Falih said that during his visit to Russia, he met with Energy Minister Alexander Novak, where they discussed “the Saudi- Russian partnership process,” since the historic visit of Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz to Russia in 2017.

The ministers also discussed the preparation for a scheduled visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Saudi Arabia.

“We affirm that we will continue to hold these meetings and dialogues between our two countries to ensure further progress, partnership, investment development and trade exchange,” Falih said in a separate tweet.

“We also discussed the oil markets and confirmed that we will continue with high levels of commitment to the production cuts agreement until the end of the first quarter of 2020, with a view to restoring world oil reserves to their natural range,” the Saudi minister added.
