Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Re-elected President of the UAE

Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan was re-elected on Wednesday November 6th as President of the UAE's Supreme Council of the Union for a fourth five-year term, in accordance with the provisions of the UAE Constitution, Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.

The Supreme Council of the Union expressed its confidence in the leadership of President Sheikh Khalifa and wished him good luck in continuing the UAE's process of development and prosperity.

Sheikh Khalifa is the incumbent President of the UAE and was first elected President of the UAE by the Supreme Council of the Union on November 3rd 2004.

President Sheikh Khalifa accompanied the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan in the founding stages of the UAE's renaissance in the 70s and 80s before taking over the leadership of the country and steering it towards prosperity.
