The final round of the UEFA Champions League group stage kicks off on Tuesday December 10th as topflight teams determine their fate in the continental tournament.
Group E rankings:
KRC Genk 1
English Premier League leaders Liverpool will face Red Bull Salzburg of Austria in the 6th round of Group E games on Tuesday away from home at Red Bull Arena.
Liverpool need for a win or a draw against Salzburg to secure a place in the Champions League last 16.
The Reds are leading the group’s ranking with 10 points from five games as they achieved the victory three times while they drew in one and lost the other.
Salzburg are third in the group’s ranking with 7 points, two points behind Napoli, who will face KRC Genk also on Tuesday.
Group F rankings:
Inter Milan 7
Borussia Dortmund 7
Slavia Prague 2
Already qualified for a place in the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League, Barcelona will face Inter Milan on Tuesday December 10th in the 6th round of Group F games at the San Siro Giuseppe Meazza Stadium.
Inter Milan are ranked second in Group F, level on seven points with Borussia Dortmund, who will host Slavia Prague also on Tuesday.
The Italian side, due to their superior head-to-head goal difference, are favourites to make it to the last 16 if the two clubs finish on the same number of points.
Group G rankings:
RB Leipzig 10
Zenit St Petersburg 7
Olympique Lyonnais 7
RB Leipzig of Germany secured their place in the last 16 of the Champions League and will face Olympique Lyonnais in the final round of the group’s stage on Tuesday.
Olympique Lyonnais seek to book a place in the coming round as they face Zenit St Petersburg, who will face Benfica on Tuesday for a place in the last 16 round.
Lyon are the only team to beat group leaders Leipzig in Europe this season after a 2-0 win at the Red Bull Arena, but they are still waiting on the result of their game against Leipzig, also on Tuesday.
Group H rankings:
Ajax Amsterdam 10
Group H is considered as the most complicated group in the continental tournament as three of the group’s teams await their games’ results to determine their position.
The group leaders Ajax Amsterdam will host Valencia. Chelsea are a favorite to reach the next round when they host the group’s bottom Lille at Stamford Bridge stadium as the Blues are expected to make use of the home advantage.
