After his superb start with Tottenham, coach Jose Mourinho believes the Spurs will finish in the top four of the English Premier League this season.
Mourinho, who was named Tottenham’s coach last month, had a hectic start to life at the Spurs with six games in 21 days, which returned the team to winning ways, as they achieved victories in four games.
Tottenham are scheduled to face Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday, December 15th.
"We know where we belong and we believe at the end of the season we are going to be there," Mourinho said at his pre-match press conference on Friday, December 13th.
"We don't belong to the second part of the table where we were; we don't even belong to position seven or eight where we are in this moment,” the Portuguese coach added.
The 56-year-old Mourinho confirmed that he needed time but the squad had the "talent and desire" to improve.
The Portuguese tactician revealed that during the winter break he will be on the training ground rather than trying to sign new players.
"I want to work," he said. "I'm going to have time to work, which until now I don't have."
Tottenham are in the seventh place of the English Premier League table with 23 points.
