A number of UAE officials are participating in the second edition of the Global Manufacturing Industrialisation Summit (GMIS) held in Yekaterinburg, Russia, Emirates News Agency reported.
The 2019 GMIS seeks to highlight the role of manufacturing in enabling global prosperity through advancing the UN’s sustainable development goals.
The three-day summit started on Tuesday, July 9th, with the participation of a UAE delegation headed by Suhail bin Mohammed Faraj Faris al-Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Industry; Hussain bin Ibrahim al-Hammadi, Minister of Education; Khaldoon Khalifa al-Mubarak, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Affairs Authority; Saif Mohamed Al Hajeri, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development. A number of other officials joined them.
The GMIS will be held alongside INNOPROM, an annual industrial trade fair held in Russia since 2010.
The 2019 summit aims to continue emphasising the impact of innovation and fourth industrial revolution technologies on the global manufacturing sector through the worldwide dissemination of knowledge, best practices, and standards, WAM reported.
