Four al-Shabab fighters were killed when US forces in Somalia launched an airstrike in response to partner forces that came under attack.
The attack, which took place on 8th December, resulted in partner forces being attacked near Basra, a community outside the capital, Mogadishu. No civilians were involved in the attack.
So far, the US has carried out some 39 airstrikes against al-Shabab, which is an Islamic extremist group linked to al-Qaida.
According to AP, the US airstrikes have increased dramatically since President Donald Trump took office and approved expanded military operations in the Horn of Africa nation.
