The US voiced support to the monitoring and verification activities of UN's nuclear watchdog the International Atomic Energy Agency, after the latter condemned Iran's holding of an IAEA inspector, AFP reported.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Friday November 8th echoed US Envoy to IAEA Jackie Wolcot's condemnation of the Iranian act, saying it represented "an outrageous and unwarranted act of intimidation."

Tehran also had prevented the inspector last week from gaining access to its main uranium-enrichment facility at Natanz.

Addressing Iran, Pomep urged resolving "all open issues" with the nuclear watchdog and grant the IAEA inspectors the entitlements required, highlighting the right of the inspectors to be allowed to freely carry out their "critical work."
