Rumours linking Manchester United forward Alexis Sanchez to a sensational return to Arsenal have been spreading recently.

Alexis Sanchez has struggled for form since joining Manchester United from Arsenal in January last year. Sanchez has only scored five goals in 41 appearances for The Red Devils, a poor return considering his form for Arsenal where he scored 80 goals in 166 games.

The Chilean forward was heavily criticised after failing to make an impact after coming off the bench at half-time against Paris St Germain. He was criticised for looking overweight and slow.

Now some are questioning his decision to leave The Emirates for Old Trafford. Former Arsenal winger Marc Overmars told a Chile Radio Station according to Sky Sports: "I have great respect for Alexis, because he did extremely well in Arsenal, but I do not know if it was a good decision to leave."

Former Arsenal midfielder Paul Merson questioned whether the player has lost some of his hunger for the game according to Sky Sports he said, "I hope we see the old Sanchez, but I don't see the confidence or the hunger in his eyes anymore,"

Now the talks of a return haven been spreading amongst certain sectors of Arsenal fans and pundits. Some Arsenal fans may be unsympathetic to the 30-year-old’s plight, considering he left the club to join a top rival.
