The Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF) 41st edition’s closing ceremony took place at the Cairo Opera House on November 29th.
Youssef Cherif Rizkallah’s edition featured 150 films from 63 countries, with Mexico being the “county in focus.”
The 41st edition, which took place from November 20th to 29th, witnessed the honouring of many international filmmakers, such as English director Terry Gilliam, Mexican screenwriter-director Guillermo Arriaga, and Italian cinematographer Vittorio Storaro.
During the closing ceremony, CIFF announced the list of winners of both the official competitions’ prizes and special prizes.
The Golden Pyramid Award for best film went to Fernando Frias’s “I Am No Longer Here.”
