The number of dead or missing mountaineers on Mount Everest has risen to nine this climbing season

Most of the deaths on Everest this year have been attributed to exhaustion and tiredness

A record 381 climbers had been granted permits to scale the summit from the Nepali side

Climbers returning from Everest have reported that too many people are along the route to and from the summit

They believe there should be a cap on the number of people who are allowed to climb to the summit each season

Hiking officials estimate between five and ten climbers die on Mount Everest in an average climbing year
