Babylon witnessed several anti-government demonstrations on October 25th, as occurred throughout Iraq’s provinces.
Peaceful demonstrators demanded the government’s resignation, constitutional amendments and basic services.
Thousands took part in the protests, the majority of them were Babylon’s young people.
The protesters set up barricades blocking roads.
Demonstrations in Babylon were without incident as protesters marched peacefully.
The protesters came from all social groups, chanting ‘The people demand the fall of the regime’.
They were fully supported by the police who carried no weapons but protected the marchers.
