Those who wanted to rent it, on a monthly basis would pay $2.1 million per month, including 55,000 sq ft, an east and west wing, six levels of residence, 132 rooms and 35 bathrooms.
The White House was built by Irish architect, James Hoban, between 1792-1800. James Hoban also designed numerous buildings such as the Octagon House, in Washington DC, and also some roads and bridges in the city.
The first president and founding father to live at the White House was president John Adams, a leader of the American Revolution. Following him, him every president has lived at the White House.
