Dr Majid Sadeghpour, Political Director of the Organisation of Iranian-American Communities, spoke to 7Dnews in the halls of the US Congress about the current situation developing in Iran.

Sadeghpour: 'We are here to urge members of Congress to support the Iranian people’s demands for a democratic change in Iran.'

Sadeghpour expressed his concerns over the Iranian government’s decision to shut down internet services.

Sadeghpour: 'The Iranian regime wants to prevent the interntional community from knowing that there is a massacre ongoing in the streets of Iran.'

Since November 15th, peaceful mass protests were sparked by a hike in fuel prices in nearly 100 cities across Iran.

Since then, at least 106 protesters in 21 cities were killed and thousands injured as a result of widespread use of live ammunition against protesters.

Some 1,000 demonstrators were arrested so far.
