The main French pilot’s union is expected to call a strike from Monday May 6th to Saturday May 11th, in a move which may harm air flights operations across France, Reuters reported.

The Syndicat National des Pilotes de Ligne (SNPL) said it is threatened by a new transport law that will group them in with other larger trade unions, and they fear this will drown out their voice on issues to do with pilots, the French Newspaper La Tribune reported on Thursday April 18th.

The newspaper said the union has sent a nationwide strike notice to prime minister Edouard Philippe, transport minister Elisabeth Borne and labour minister Muriel Penicaud.

The strike could affect all airlines operating in France including Air France, Aigle Azur, Corsair, XL Airways, Easy Jet and Vueling.
