Police officers in Athens removed a suspicious package from outside a judge’s home. Authorities responded after a warning call was placed to a local newspaper, stating the package had been left there.
The area was cordoned off while bomb disposal experts examined the package on November 13th. While there was no explosion, the incident carries some hallmarks of a small, domestic far-left militant group, who target symbols of authority. The attacks rarely result in injuries.
The anonymous phone call warned that a bomb would explode outside the residence of supreme court prosecutor Isidoros Doyiakos.
Local police released a statement regarding the incident. The package was found inside the storage compartment of a motorcycle. According to AP, the motorcycle had been left outside a building in the eastern suburb of Vyronas.
