European Council President Donald Tusk on Saturday October 19th said he is waiting for British Prime Minister Boris Johnson's letter requesting a Brexit delay, after British MPs voted for a proposal obliging the prime minister to seek delay, Reuters reported.
Tusk said he spoke with Johnson after the vote and is "waiting for the letter."
On the other hand, Johnson said he will tell the EU that a delay is "not a solution," adding that he does not rule out the possibility that the EU will reject granting Britain a Brexit extension.
"I will not negotiate a delay with the European Union," Johnson said in letter to lawmakers, according to Sky News. "I will tell the EU what I have told the British public for my 88 days as Prime Minister: further delay is not a solution."
